Post-modernism is the social, political and cultural attitutudes and images of the late twentieth and early twenty first centuries. This theory is based around philosophy and takes into consideration social and political views on media texts. A good good example of this is post-modern feminism which challenges feminism and tries to see the other side of feminism and maybe that women can also have dominant roles in society.
A good example of post modernism in a text would be the cadbury's gorilla advert as this did not focus on the product at all, this is because in this day and age because of social views it is a lot harder to please the audience therefore media institutions are having to come up with new ways to engage them rather than the conventional ways. Hybridisation within film texts is another example of post modernism as this never use to be done in films until the twentieth century.
